goodbye utah

After our awesome CA trip we had two days to pack up everything we own into a telephone booth (our pod we rented was so tiny!) and say goodbye to all our friends and family before we started our three day drive back east. I wish I had a picture of how small our pod was. I burst into tears the first time I saw it, thinking of all our things I would have to leave behind and all the repacking I would have to do. But with the help of some wonderful friends and family we were able to fit everything in the pod that we needed. It was like a jigsaw puzzle or tetris the way things were packed in there. We still haven't unpacked yet and I'm a little nervous to open the pod once we do as everything might spill out. But at least we didn't have to leave anything behind.

That night we had a goodbye party with all of our friends. I'm so sad I didn't get any pictures. It was great though and we feel so blessed with amazing friends. I think that is one of the things that made it hardest for me to leave home.

On Sunday our families got together for dinner and to celebrate Steve's birthday a couple weeks early. We got him a Mrs. Baker's cake, sugar flowers and all. So yummy! We have two amazing families and we are going to miss them a whole lot. They do so much for us and we have loved living so close to them!
