eleven months

James turned eleven months old on February 15th. My baby is almost a year old! At 11 months James:

• has only two teeth
• has blue eyes
• has blonde hair, but not very much of it
• has a huge belly and chunky thighs and is fatter than ever

• has a tongue that comes out all the time, especially when he is concentrating
• is crawling at the speed of light
• is standing up by himself
• is walking along our furniture, but still too scared to try without something to hold on to
• likes to dance and bounce, even if there is no music
• like to play the chasing game and hide-and-go-seek and gets so excited when we find him--he squeals like a little girl
• is getting into everything and has figured out how to open cupboards and drawers
• is mostly fearless which leads to lots of bruises and scrapes--especially on that head of his
• tries to climb everything

• is very social- loves other kids and babies and likes to touch them a little too much
• likes to go places with mom- doesn't matter where as long as there are lots of things and people to see
• throws tantrums if he doesn't get his way, but is quick to recover and be distracted by something else
• talks and talks and talks, but no discernible words yet
• usually talks to himself for a half hour in his bed before he falls asleep. What I wouldn't give to have a camera to watch him during this time. He also kicks the wall very hard while in his crib. Scared me half to death the first time he did it.

• is eating much better- will eat almost any grown up food except vegetables- we are struggling with those by I am learning new tricks to get him to eat them.
• favorite foods are chicken nuggets, cheese, yogurt, and graham crackers. the cheese is definitely showing in his cheeks and triple chin.
• hates wearing a bib. it comes off after a couple minutes every time. 
• likes to feed his mom and dad- food, toys or other stuff--it doesn't matter. He just likes to put stuff in our mouths

• has too much personality. he is a stinker and he knows it and he thinks it is hilarious when I try to discipline him and he doesn't obey. it's going to be a fun ride with this one.
• is all sorts of emotional--happy one minute, sad the next. roller coaster ride! overall though he is mostly a pretty happy guy
• is getting much more snuggly- he will sit and read stories for a long time and he gives hugs freely. he even cuddles with me before he goes to bed which used to never happen. i love it.
• waves when we say "bye-bye", claps his hands when we say "yay", and looks at the door when i talk about daddy
• is so much fun to be around. i love spending my days with him and watching him learn and discover new things. he makes me so happy!
