Birthday

We celebrated my (gulp) 26th birthday a couple weeks ago! My boys spoiled me to no end. The day started an hour later than my days usually start when Steve got up with James and let me stay in bed. Heaven. I am no morning person and it was so refreshing to wake up when I wanted to wake up! If that was all that was too happen I would have been a happy girl! But instead I walked into the kitchen I found my husband cooking me a delicious french toast breakfast.

We had an easy going day. Steve went to the grocery store for me (a task I usually dread) and let me work on my own things for uninterrupted periods of time. He made me a delicious lunch including homemade hummus!

We dropped James off with a babysitter and had dinner in Old Town Alexandria. My only request was sushi so Steve found a wonderful little place called the Flying Fish. I love sushi and we don't get to eat it nearly enough.

hummus and sushi. i ate well this birthday.

After dinner we strolled around Old Town Alexandria which is one of my very favorite places out here. They leave white Christmas lights on the trees year-round, so naturally I love it! We stopped in some of my favorite stores and enjoyed time with just the two of us. We came home and picked up James and Emily and went to our local yogurt shop, Sweet Frog. Then we came home and played some of favorite games until it was not my birthday anymore.

sweet frog and total accidental twinners

On Sunday we had dinner with some friends and family and Steve made me an amazing orange-raspberry cake. That boy knows how to spoil me.

It was such a low key birthday which was perfect for me! I hate being fussed over, but I loved getting to spend a whole day with Steve and James where Steve didn't have to do homework or anything! That was the best treat ever!
