Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving here in Alexandria. I got a little depressed in the days leading up to it because we weren't going to be home with our families in Utah. It turned in to a nice day though because we got to spend it with our family and dear friends who live out here. Steve's sister Emily and her husband Evan hosted us and provided an amazing turkey. Steve's cousin Charlie and his wife Kim were visiting from the western US for the weekend so we got to enjoy their company. And our friends Jordan and Sydney are pretty much family so we were so excited they could celebrate with us. The food ended up being delicious and we all stuffed ourselves. The best part of the day was getting to spend time with Steve who studies way too much for my liking every other day of the week. The worst part of the day wa that James was sick and grumpy and didn't want to eat any of the yummy food. I was so excited to let him try marshmallow sweet potatoes. Next year.

We have so many things to be grateful for and it was nice to take a day to reflect on how much we have  especially since I've been feeling a little lacking lately. Perspective makes such a difference and I realize how blessed we are. I aim to keep this frame of mind through the whole year. I think it will make all the difference.

thankful for my two boys. love them.
