We have been in DC for three weeks today. Steve has successfully completed his first two weeks of law school and is almost halfway through his third. He usually leaves for school around 7:30 or 8 each morning and is home around 6 or 6:30. His classes don't take that long but he spends a lot of time on campus studying so that he can come home and I can have him to myself for a few hours. We usually eat dinner together and then watch a few episodes of Arrested Development. We just finished season two last night :) I know these lazy nights probably won't last, but so far I don't think law school is too bad.
first day of law school
And I stay at home everyday and be a mom and that keeps me pretty busy. We live next to a little park and James and I try to go every day to swing. We've explored Falls Church a little bit which makes me sad because we are moving. Falls Church is so charming . But I'm excited to explore Alexandria which will be our new home starting next week.

Our first weekend here we visited the National Mall and the Museum of Natural History. James loved the museum. He was in his carrier and was just kicking and squealing and waving his arms the whole time. He does the same thing when we go grocery shopping each week. Silly man.

We explored a little bit around the mall and downtown DC before it started to rain. I swear it rains every day here, if even just for a few minutes. The humidity is not doing any favors for my hair. Definitely going to have to learn a new hair routine out here.

The verdict on DC? So far so good. But I almost feel like I am still in vacation mode or something, especially since we are still wearing the same clothes that we packed for our california trip. And James is growing out of his too fast I might add. Grateful we get all our stuff next week. I think it will be nice to have a place of our own and to start making it feel like home out here.
